Ok, we have all read or heard tons about comparison- more than we can count. It is just a human thing. We hate it, but we all do it. ⠀ ⠀ The one thing that helps me is when others are vulnerable enough to admit it. It leaves room for others to say, "Girl, me too!" The enemy wants us to harbor jealousy and envy in our hearts. He wants to separate us into isolation (not so much outwardly, but inwardly). ⠀ ⠀ What I recently heard, from a podcast, is that this is a 'sin' problem, not just a 'heart' struggle. When we compare ourselves to others, we are making them an idol! Actually, we are making ourselves an idol too.⠀ ⠀ I was introduced to the idea that we try to 'beat this thing,' meaning make it go away. The temptation is probably not going to go away. Why? Cause satan knows how well comparison works at separating and ruining us.⠀ ⠀ He tempts, but we don't have to give in. What if we tried to stop making it go away, and had strategies to fight with when the enemy does come? Do you have strategies right now? How about using Scripture? ⠀ ⠀ It is easy to try and find things wrong with that person, to make ourselves feel better, or to fall into pity. However, what if we had Scripture to fight with...The Belt of Truth? Instead of trying to make the temptation go away (which you can't, because you can't control the tempter) learn to fight!
